RIP Red Blooded Women

And another one bites the dust. Or should I say, try your hardest to "Enjoy the Silence"?

::dry sob::

One of the girl groups I've dearly supported for several years now, Red Blooded Women, have officially called it quits. From the mouth of babes:

Hi everyone,

As some of you may have noticed, we've been slightly quiet recently in terms of gigs and updates etc etc. It's with regret that we have to let you all know that RBW is no longer active as a group. This has been an extremely difficult decision to make, but we all felt that it was time to pursue different opportunities.

We've had an amazing time over the last couple of years, and we're immensely proud of what we achieved as a little independent group with a teeny tiny budget. We've met some wonderful people along the way, travelled to different countries, performed alongside some of our favourite acts and gained so much experience.

We wanted to say a big thank you to everyone that's supported us over the last few years, everyone that's came to a gig, sent us lovely messages or downloaded our tracks, it means a lot to us.

All three of us are keeping the Red Blooded spirit alive and working on different projects, and if anyone wants to follow what we're getting up to as individuals you can catch Candy on ITV2's 'The Only Way Is Essex' from this week, whilst Liz is currently writing with some of the hottest producers in Sweden, the US and the UK for a very exciting, top secret new project - more to come very very soon.

Again, thank you so much for all your support - it's been an absolute blast ; )

Lots of love
Candy, Liz & Kate
RBWx

Their solo pursuits leave much to look forward to, but there is no curing the empty space created in RBW's absence. Simply put, few did dark UK synth like them.

To recap the sadness, the above cut, "Colour Me Dirty", was my #3 Top 2(00)8 Song of 2008, and their ace cover of Depeche (Freakin'!) Mode's "Enjoy the Silence" was proof that a cover of a classic can be done.

Ladies, you will be missed. In Memoriam. RIP.

To read my interview with the original three members (Liz, Candy and Carly), click here. Tune in tonight to Resolution Radio at 9PM Eastern Standard Time, as I will be spinning a candlelight vigil in their honor, by playing "Dirty" and their cover of "Enjoy the Silence" as my closing jams.

Any chance of getting the songs from their album's sampler of 2008?
