Because really, I don't even need the music -- just the thought alone makes me want to bust out in the Carlton. Usually, tours like this are the stuff of legend and myth. However, this one is totally legit.
Swedish popstar and one of my overall, all-encompassing musical biases Robyn has announced tour dates with musical diva and innovator Kelis for the All Hearts Tour, with two nights at New York City's famed Webster Hall. Dear friends, I have thought it over, and considering I was stiffed from seeing the two big Korean-Pop tours coming through the USA (JYP/2AM and Wonder Girls/2PM) and my birthday is in two weeks (the big 2-3!), I felt I owed myself this one, and I'm proud to say I now possess tickets.
Expect a full recap the weekend after -- the show is the first week of August. In the meantime, I shall be jamming to Kelis' short, but jampacked electro-dance album Flesh Tone ("Emancipate!" The David Guetta-produced "Acapella!" It's all so good!), and (it goes without saying) all of Robyn's incredible and poppylicious back catalogue.
Robyn and Kelis together is exciting enough, but add to the mix that Dan Black (whose cut "Symphonies" was available as a iTunes Free Download of the Week of a few months back and features the backbeat of Rihanna's "Umbrella") and Far East Movement will be opening. It will be an event for the ages. I can barely contain myself!
