The Billboard Top 200 Album Chart got seriously shaken up this week. The only thing that seems familiar is that Taylor Swift is back at #1 with her album, Fearless (up two spots from last week). The album has been out for only 14 weeks (about 3.5 months), and this will be her 9th week at #1. She is quickly gaining on Santana's mammoth album Supernatural, released back in the glory days of 1999/2000, which spent 12 weeks at #1.
(In other TeenDisneyStar news, Selena Gomez has recently dished she would love to duet with Taylor Swift on Gomez's upcoming album. Apparently, the matter has already been discussed, so it looks like all systems are go. If it's anything like the duet with Miley, I'm not expecting much -- so fingers crossed, Selena!)
The rest of the top 10 is chock full f debuts, gainers and surprising (sort of) jumpers. It is as follows:
1. Taylor Swift, Fearless (up 2 spots)
2. Robert Plant/Alison Krauss, Raising Sand (up from #69, the Greatest Gainer of the week)
3. India.Aire, Testimony: Vol. 2, Love & Politics (Hot Shot of the Week, debut)
4. The Fray, The Fray (down from #1 last week)
5. Lily Allen, It's Not Me, It's You (debut)
6. Bruce Springsteen, Working On A Dream (down four spots)
7. Bobby Valentino, The Rebirth (debut)
8. Coldplay, Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends (up from #31 last week, Pace Setter of the Week)
9. Grammy Nominees 2009 (up from #12 last week, peaked at #6)
10. Adele, 19 (up from #27 last week to a new peak after 36 weeks)
As I predicted yesterday, Flo Rida and his new lead single "Right Round" is officially the #1, taking over for Eminem/50 Cent/Dr. Dre. But his reign may be short lived, as T.I. & Justin Timberlake's duet "Dead and Gone" has made significant strides this week as well. And in other good news: Lady Gaga officially has TWO songs in the Top 10...The top 10 is as follows:
1. Flo Rida "Right Round" (up from #58 last week)
2. T.I. & Justin Timberlake "Dead and Gone" (up from #9, Greatest Gainer and Airplay Gainer of the week)
3. Eminem/Dr. Dre/50 Cent "Crack A Bottle" (down 2 spots)
4. Kanye West "Heartless" (down 2 spots)
5. Lady Gaga "Just Dance" (down 2 spots)
6. All American Rejects "Gives You Hell" (static)
7. Taylor Swift "Love Story" (static; peaked at #4)
8. Kelly Clarkson "My Life Would Suck Without You" (down 4 spots)
9. Beyonce "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" (down 4 spots)
10. Lady Gaga "Poker Face" (up 2 spots, new peak after 9 weeks)
Other significant points about the Hot 100:
- Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" bounces back up almost to the Top 10 --jumping from #24 to #13 after 41 weeks on the chart. Their Grammy duet with Jay-Z, "Lost!", re-enters the Hot 100 this week at #40. This position is it's peak so far, but it's only charted for four weeks. Expect this one to rise...
- Ne-Yo's "Mad" stays static at its peak position of #14 this week.
- Soulja Boy continues to rise with "Kiss Me Thru the Phone", up to #17 from #22 this week, to its latest peak.
- Adele's groundbreaking "Chasing Pavements" jumps from #64 last week to #21 this week to a new peak. And they say Grammy bumps don't exist anymore...
- PCD's "I Hate This Part" slips down the stripper pole to outside the Top 20. They land at #22, down from #16 last week.
- While Lady Gaga jumped over all the rest into the Top 10, poor Keri Hilson stays static at #23 with"Turnin Me On".
- Beyonce's "Diva" slips back down to #24 after achieving a peak of #20 last week...Her other (and better) single, "Halo", also slips from its peak of #44 to #49 this week.
- After 12 weeks on the chart, The Veronicas and "Untouched" try to gain back momentum, moving up one spot to #27 this week. They peaked at #17.
- Sympathy for Rihanna helps "Disturbia" stay well within the Top 40, landing at #33 this week, up from #38 last week.
- Lil Wayne's "Prom Queen" drops like a lead balloon this week from #15 last week to #44 this week, after just 3 weeks on the chart. Guess people aren't digging Weezy's new sound after all...
