Well my friends, this is a little late, but the Top 10 of this week's Album Chart is full of newbies, oldies, dominators and surgers. In fact, the only thing that remained the same is Taylor Swift is #1. Again.
1. Taylor Swift, Fearless (static)
2. Charlie Wilson, Uncle Charlie (debut; Hot Shot of the Week)
3. The Fray, The Fray (up 1 spot)
4. Nickelback, Dark Horse (up from #11)
5. Beyonce, I Am...Sasha Fierce (up from #12)
6. Jamie Foxx, Intuition (up from #14)
7. India.Aire, Testimony: Vol. 2, Love & Politics (down from #3)
8. Kanye West, 808s and Heartbreak (up from #16)
9. Robert Plant/Alison Krauss, Raising Sand (down from #2)
10. Lady Gaga, The Fame (up from #26!)
But more importantly, over on the singles chart, there really hasn't been much rocking of the boat. Flo Rida and his re-imagining of Dead or Alive's "Right Round" with Ke$ha (with a $, apparently, where have I been?) maintains the #1 position for a second week. In a similar manner, T.I. & Justin Timberlake continue to put up a fight, as "Dead and Gone" also remains at #2, but is also the Airplay Gainer of the week. I think Flo Rida's time at the top could be ending...The rest of the top 10 is fairly usual suspects, except my girl Lady Gaga has back to back tracks in the Top 10 as "Poker Face" bypasses "Just Dance", and Soulja Boy managed to somehow slip through the cracks to the Top 10. ::shakes head::
The Top 10 is as follows:
1. Flo Rida feat. Ke$ha "Right Round" (static)
2. T.I. feat. Justin Timberlake "Dead And Gone" (static, Airplay Gainer)
3. Kanye West "Heartless" (up from #4)
4. All American Rejects "Gives You Hell" (up from #6, new peak)
5. Eminem, Dr. Dre & 50 Cent "Crack a Bottle" (down from #3)
6. Lady Gaga "Poker Face" (up from #10, new peak)
7. Lady Gaga "Just Dance" (down from #5)
8. Taylor Swift "Love Story" (down from #7)
9. Soulja Boy Tell Em feat. Sammie "Kiss Me Thru The Phone" (up from #17, Sales Gainer, new peak)
10. Kelly Clarkson "My Life Would Suck Without You" (down from #8)
Other Notables:
- Beyonce's "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" slips out of the Top 10 to #11.
- Jamie Foxx's "Blame It" with T-Pain is still on the rise, now at a new peak #17, up from #26.
- Same goes for the little engine that could, Keri Hilson, aa "Turnin' Me On" is up to #18 from#23 last week. Beyonce's "Diva" bites at her heels at #19.
- Now best described as recurrent tracks, T.I./Rhianna's "Live Your Life", Kevin Rudolf's "Let It Rock", PCD's "I Hate This Part"and Katy Perry's "Hot N Cold" land just outside the Top 20 in that order at #21, #22, #23 and #24, respectively.
- The Veronicas hang in there at #26, up one spot from last week with "Untouched".
- The-Dream and "Rockin' that Thang" land at #27, up from #36 to a new peak. I mention this because my roommate recently auditioned to be a dancer on his tour. We'll see how that works out...
- A notable jump goes to Jesse McCartney and his new recut version of "How Do You Sleep?" with Ludacris, as Jesse preps the re-release of his Departure album. It's up to a new peak at #39, up from #57 last week after just 3 weeks on the chart. I personally think "Relapse" would have been a better choice but...oh well.
- Beyonce's OTHER single (because she has 40 million out right now), and in my opinion the best of the four, "Halo", flounders at #46, up from #49 last week. It peaked at #44.
