The Satz Can't Get Enough

As you may recall, The Saturdays (or as I affectionately refer to them: The Satz -- that's mine, you have to credit Mel for it! ;) ) will be releasing this year's Comic Relief Single, a cover of Depeche Freakin' Mode's "Just Can't Get Enough." A 30 second preview was on Pop Justice a few days ago, and now the full song has leaked, along with a campy, pinup-inspired video.

The song isn't as epically incredible as their cover of the Four Seasons' "Beggin", but it's still a toe-tapper. I was expecting a bit...more...something more like when Girls Aloud did "Jump", but it's not like that. It's lighter, campier...sillier. And that's exactly what a Comic Relief single should be.

It was recently announced the song will be their next proper single to follow up "Issues", which regrettably means that we'll have to wait a bit longer for "Work". No doubt they are waiting on it a bit so that they can release that one more toward the spring/summer...and what a good summer jam it will be!!

The video is cute, and shows a bit more of a sultry side to the girls that we've seen before (even though its very tongue-in-cheeky).

In the cover, I get that Frankie (2nd from the left) is the Cop, that Mollie (2nd from the right) is the Sailor, and that Una (last on the right) is the Cheerleader. But what comical stereotype of a female Village People exactly are Vanessa and Rochelle supposed to be? Can anyone enlighten me?

The video has a lot of chuckle moments. Around 30 seconds in, a sultry looking Frankie sings her solo on a boudoir, fanning herself to reveal a Comic Relief nose. At :55, Frankie (again) tries to make vacumming as a '50s housewife look sexy but looks kind of robotic. At 1:08, Rochelle randomly toutes a trumpet. 1:10 to 1:15 with Vanessa's vingette makes me laugh probably harder than it should. Around the 2:30 mark, they go into "choreography" which looks like a simplified Macarena.

I love that they don't take themselves too seriously. All of their videos look so simple, so watered down, so to the point and not super-high-budget. I love that. Pop is missing that. They way they dance around and pose suggests they are still so green (because they are) and makes you feel like it could totally be you and your girlfriends strutting around singing, "I just can't get enough! I just can't get enough!"

Here's the video. What do you think?

Rochelle (I'm not entirely sure about the Saturdays' names yet, but I think that's who I mean) might be an airline stewardess? I've got no idea about Vanessa!

This video could function so well as a shoe commercial. That's not a complaint, though! I really like it and their version of the song.

Yes -- that's Rochelle. Hmm...That makes sense. But yeah...Vanessa...I have no clue! Haha!

That's hilarious about the shoe commercial. I can totally see the Payless "BOGO" thing going on over it and they smiling saying, "Just Can't Get Enough." Ahhh. What a good marketing concept! haha!

What's the difference between The Saturdays and Girls Aloud? They seem the same to me... SUGABABES FOREVER!
