[WGO] Lady Gaga and I "Dance"

Stop the world, I wanna get off! Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" is officially #1 in the USA, staving off Beyonce and T.I.

This is the part where I start grinning like an idiot from ear to ear and dancing like the pathetic little dork I am. I lovvvve this song and I lovvvvvvve Lady Gaga! Finally! The world understands us! It may have taken 22 weeks, but she finally made it!

Rounding Out the Top 10:
2. Beyonce "Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It") (12 weeks on, peaked at #1)
3. T.I. ft. Rihanna "Live Your Life" (15 weeks on, peaked at #1)
4. Taylor Swift "Love Story" (17 weeks on, peak position -- airplay gainer)
5. Kanye West "Heartless" (9 week son, peaked last week at #4)
6. Katy Perry "Hot N Cold" (23 weeks on, peaked at #3)
7. Jason Mraz "I'm Yours" (38 weeks on, up from #12 last week, peaked at #6)
8. Britney Spears "Womanizer" (14 weeks on, peaked at #1)
9. Kevin Rudolf ft. Lil Wayne "Let It Rock" (19 weeks on, up from #15 last week, peaked at #5)
10. Kanye West "Love Lockdown" (16 weeks on, peaked at #3)

For the rest of the chart:
-Jason Mraz and Kevin Rudolf are returning to the top 10 this week to make waves.
-The Pussycat Dolls continue to climb with "I Hate This Part" to its new best position at #19, up from #21 last week, after 6 weeks on the chart.
-Same goes for the slow ascent being made by The Veronicas with "Untouched", up from #26 from #29 after 6 weeks.
-Grr. Paramore's "Decode" fell back down from #33 last week to #41 this week after 9 weeks on the chart...
-After debuting 2 weeks ago at #51, Nickelodeon's "I Carly" star Miranda Cosgrove gets to her higest position so far at #47 with her butchering adaptation of the Sugababes's "About You Now."
-Ne-Yo's latest single "Mad" might be one to watch. After just five scant weeks on the chart, it is peaking this week at #49, up from #61 last week.

-As predicted, Taylor Swift's album, Fearless, continues to reign over the Billboard Top 200 Album chart at #1, for the fifth non-consecutive week, after just 8 weeks on the chart.

-I don't usually talk more about the album chart unless it warrants it, and this does. After 8 weeks on the chart, the various artist album "All Wrapped Up!", a Christmas album sold exclusively at Target which features Disney artists like Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Aly & AJ and Demi Lovato singing both traditional and original Christmas songs (and released by the Disney label, Hollywood Records), jumped into the top 10 at #10 for it's highest position ever. The reason why it's weird? Last week it was listed as #88, and it's the first full week of January. (confused)

-I find it hard to believe but at this time last year, the number one song in the USA was Flo Rida/T-Pain's "Low". With the staying power that this single had, it's hard to believe this was a year ago. The remaining top 5 were Alicia Keys' "No One", Timbaland/OneRepublic's "Apologize", Chris Brown/T-Pain's "Kiss Kiss" and Soulja Boy Tell'em's "Crank That (Soulja Boy)".

-The People's Choice Awards was last night. "Dancing With the Stars" beat out "American Idol" and "Extreme Makeover" to win Favorite Competition/Reality Show. Chris Brown won Fave Male Singer, Carrie Underwood won Fave Female. Choice group was given to Rascal Flatts (over Coldplay and Maroon 5 if you can believe it), and fave duet was given to "No Air" by Jordin Sparks/Chris Brown. Fave hip hop song: "Low" by Flo Rida (see above!). Fave "rock" song: "All Summer Long" by Kid Rock -- which pains me because I don't consider this rock. It should have went to Coldplay's "Viva La Vida". Fave Country song again went to Carrie Underwood with "Last Name," while fave R&B song went to "No One" by Alicia Keys. Fave pop song went to (gag!) "I Kissed A Girl" by Katy Perry. Over "Disturbia"? Really? And finally, in news unrelated to this blog, my beloved TV show "Supernatural" lost Fave Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show (as we all knew it would, unfortunately) to "Heroes." Sigh.

I pains me that country is as strong as it is when the "people" are asked to vote. Grrr.

-More awful news: in addition to subjecting the world to his voice with his upcoming EP, Sanjaya Malakar is also releasing a memoir book of his life, which will have the same name as the album, entitled "Dancing to the Music In My Head." Yeah, well, my head is hitting the wall, right now.

I love your new site! Iam one of Miranda cosgroves biggest fans. Why do you have to be so hurtful to her?

Anon -- I don't think I'm being hurtful. I don't know much about Miranda Cosgrove, but I do think she is a good role model for young women. However, the original version of "About You Now" by the Sugababes was much better to my ears, maybe you should check it out. You might like it as well as her version.

Nikki -- sigh, yes. I wish we weren't still talking about this little boy.
